Customizing the Component Palette

You can customize the GUI Designer's component Palette, adding groups to organize your own custom UI components and components from one or more third-party libraries. You can also edit the contents of any existing Palette groups to add or remove components.

To customize your Palette, perform the following general steps

  1. Install the desired archives of UI components in a location accessible to your computer. One of the possible locations is the lib folder of your IntelliJ IDEA installation.

  2. Open the Project Settings dialog.

  3. Configure the archives of UI components.

  4. In the GUI Designer Palette, create groups and add UI classes or forms.
